Privacy Policy Notice
Trust is the basis of each successful customer relationship. Our
effort to build that trust is evidenced by the fact that many of
our customers represent generations that have been coming to this
same location to fulfill their insurance needs! We appreciate the
trust you place in us when you ask us to help protect your assets.
By explaining our privacy policy to you, we hope that you will better
understand how we keep our customer information private and secure
while using it to better serve you.
Purpose of this Notice
To comply with Federal law, effective July 1, 2001 . Title V of
the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) generally prohibits any financial
institution, directly or through its affiliates, from sharing nonpublic
personal information about you with a non-affiliated third party
unless the institution provides you with a notice of its privacy
policies and practices, such as the type of information that it
collects about you and the categories of persons or entities to
whom it may be disclosed. In compliance with the GLBA, we are providing
you with this document, which notifies you of the privacy policies
and practices of Pedigo Insurance Services.
Our Privacy Policies and Practices
1. Information we Collect:
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following
sources:
· Information we receive from you on applications, other
forms or via any other method;
· Information from any one having a legal interest in your
transaction including but not limited to a loss payee, or an additional
insured;
· Information we gather as a result of any history you develop
while being an insured;
· Information we receive from other insurers or their representatives;
· Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
2. Information we Disclose:
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about
you, as our customer or former customer, except as described in
this notice.
We will not sell your name, address, telephone number or
any other information about you to any one. We will not participate
in joint-marketing programs with unaffiliated third parties that
require us to disclose your nonpublic information to the third party.
In the process of securing quotes and coverage for you, we may disclose
the information we collect about you to any prospective insurer
from whom we attempt to obtain a quote/coverage. To assist you in
processing a real property transaction, or an automobile transaction,
or any other transaction impacting your existing insurance or pending
insurance purchase, we may share nonpublic information about you.
In such transactions, Pedigo Insurance Services is permitted to share
information about you without prior written permission, to such
persons and organizations including but not limited to: a prospective
insurer of our choice; a title company; closing agent; escrow agent;
repair shop; contractor; appraiser; attorney; investigator; lien
holder; assignee; lesser; parties acting in a fiduciary or representative
capacity accountant; auditor; parties enforcing or transferring
our rights; or any party whom we have reason to believe you have
requested or authorized to administer a transaction for you.
We may disclose personal information to others in order to service,
process or administer business such as underwriting or claims operations.
In this context, we may disclose (1) information such as assets,
income, name, address, social security number, (2) transaction information
such as information about balances, payment history and parties
to the transaction; and (3) information from consumer reporting
agencies.
We are permitted to disclose personal health information (1) to
process your transaction with us, for instance, to determine eligibility
for life/health coverage or to process claims, (2) and otherwise
as permitted by law.
We may disclose nonpublic information about you (1) as requested
by any regulatory agency in connection with the regulation of our
business, or any other entity as required by law, (2) any government/law
enforcement authority to protect our legal interest or in cases
of suspected fraud or illegal activities, (3) a collections agency
if you become delinquent in your payments/obligations to us. No
stipulation in this notice is intended to prohibit us from taking
all necessary measures to prevent insurance fraud.
3. Nonaffiliated third parties to whom disclosures may be made:
Other than described above, we do not disclose nonpublic information
about you to any other entity.
4. Sharing information with affiliates:
We will not disclose nonpublic personal information, as described
above in "Information we collect," except as described
in Information we disclose.
5. Our practices regarding information confidentiality and security:
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to
those individuals, such as employees and agents, who provide you
with our products and services. We educate our employees so that
they will understand the importance of confidentiality of personal
information and take appropriate measures to enforce privacy.
6. Website:
Our website privacy notices contain additional information particular
to website use. Please pay careful attention to those notices if
you transmit personal information to Pedigo Insurance Services over
the Internet.
7. Reservation of the right to disclose information in unforeseen
circumstances:
In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interests,
Pedigo Insurance Services and its affiliates [if any] reserves the
right to sell or transfer your information (including but not limited
to your address, name, age, sex, zip code, state and country of
residency and other information that you provide through other communications)
to a third party entity that (1) concentrates its business in a
similar practice or service; (2) agrees to be Pedigo Insurance Service's
successor in interest with regard to the maintenance and protection
of the information collected; and (3) agrees to the obligations
of this privacy statement.
